Caught Red-Handed
There’s always been certain ways to spot a fair-weather friend. Many will avoid you when your having a bad day, or perhaps they will only hang around when you can afford to buy them dinner.
Or you discover they’ve been stealing from you.
Keith Miller found out the hard way one day when he was browsing his local pawnshop for some jewelry. While he was shopping, he spotted his friend Alex Miller walking into the store.
“I said hey alex how you doing?,” says Keith Miller. “He looked at me like a deer in the headlights.”
“I would describe his eyes as big as flying saucers,” says Egan [District Manager].
Lo and behold, in Alex’s red hands were three of Miller’s fishing rods. Everyone in the store stopped what they were doing to watch the drama unfold. They even started laughing at Martin as he clumsily tried to convince them that Miller had lent them to him a long time ago.
Miller wasn’t having it and Martin turned tail and fled the store. Given that they guy wasn’t bright enough to go to a pawn shop the next town over to sell his ill-gotten goods, it should come as no surprise to you that the police found and arrested him a short time later.
